Industry benchmarks: unplanned downtime runs $500–$5,000/hr; a typical idle crew burns ~$142/hr.
Since 1993
Three Decades of Iron
Founded as Texas Heavy Equipment Repair in 1993 and operating as Arch Machinery Services today, we've stayed independent and hands-on. No dealer runaround, no bloated shop rates — just experienced techs who know these machines and treat your downtime like their own.
Why Arch
Built On How Shops Used To Run
One Tech, Start to Finish
Your machine is assigned to a skilled technician who owns the job — not passed between a rotating crew.
Straight Communication
Clear updates and honest assessments before the work starts. You'll know what's wrong, what it costs, and why.
Competitive Labor Rates
Independent means lean. We pass the savings of not being a dealer straight through to your invoice.
All Makes, All Iron
Excavators, wheel loaders, dozers and more — across every major brand, in the shop or in the field.
From the operators
Trusted On The Jobsite
They rebuilt the hydraulics on two of our excavators and had us back digging faster than the dealer quoted just to look at them. Honest crew.
Wheel loader went down mid-shift at the quarry. Their field tech was on-site that afternoon and had it running before end of day. That's the difference.
Ten years and counting. Whatever the machine, whatever the problem — electrical, engine, undercarriage — Arch figures it out and stands behind the work.

Questions We Hear Every Week
Do you work on my machine's brand?
Almost certainly. We run brand-level diagnostics and repair for Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo, Case, Hitachi, Cummins-powered machines and more. If it's heavy iron on a Houston jobsite, bring it to us — or ask when you call.
Shop repair or field service — which do I need?
If the machine can move safely and the job needs a press, crane or clean room (major engine work, undercarriage replacement), the shop is faster and cheaper. If it can't move — hydraulics, electrical, diagnostics, hoses — our mobile techs handle it at your site. Not sure? Describe the problem and we'll tell you straight.
How fast can you get a tech to my site?
We schedule field service across greater Houston and the surrounding counties, and downed-machine calls go to the front of the line. Call (281) 351-5053 and we'll give you a real time, not a window.
Do I get an estimate before you start work?
Always. We diagnose first, then put the findings and the price in writing. No work starts until you approve it, and you'll never find surprise line items on the invoice.
Do you stand behind your repairs?
Yes — one technician owns your job start to finish and we stand behind the workmanship. Ten-year repeat customers are our best reference; ask about coverage on your specific repair when you book.
Can you maintain my whole fleet, not just fix breakdowns?
Yes. We set up preventive maintenance programs on your machines' actual run hours — oil, filters, inspections, undercarriage measurement — so breakdowns become planned work instead of emergencies.
